Murder Arrest Over Primrose Hill Stabbing
Finbar Sullivan, a 21-year-old filmmaking student, was found dead in Primrose Hill after being stabbed during a confrontation. Emergency crews arrived at the scene shortly after 18:30 BST on Tuesday, responding to reports of a fight. The 27-year-old suspect has been taken into custody on murder charges, while a 25-year-old man is also detained for allegedly aiding the perpetrator.
Both individuals were held on Friday and are currently in police custody. A second person, in his 20s, was identified with non-life-threatening stab wounds near Regent’s Park Road. He was transported to the hospital for evaluation, though his condition is not considered severe.
“He was the light, the leader,” said Chris Sullivan, Finbar’s father. “His friends’ parents loved him, and this is why it’s so tragic.” The 65-year-old father described his son as “exceptional,” emphasizing the bright future he had ahead. He added that Finbar had recently battled health challenges, including an autoimmune disease and partial vision loss in one eye.
Chris reflected on the senselessness of the incident, noting that his son had simply gone to the park “because it was sunny.” “It’s beyond anything anyone could possibly imagine,” he said, expressing his grief over the quiet house and the absence of Finbar’s laughter. “I’d give everything I own to have him back again. It’s a surreal feeling, like I’m trapped in a dream I can’t escape.”
Det Insp Andy Griffin commented on the ongoing investigation, stating that the police are working tirelessly to trace all those involved. “My thoughts remain with Finbar’s family, who are receiving support from specialist officers during this heartbreaking time,” he said. He also encouraged the public to share any information or footage from the area, promising increased patrols in Primrose Hill and surrounding neighborhoods.
