Tributes to ‘fun, bright’ boy, 13, killed in crash
A 13-year-old boy, Noah Campbell, died in a collision involving a car, bicycle, and scooter on Greenfield Road in Flitwick, Bedfordshire, at 11:50 PM BST on Friday. The incident left two other teenagers with serious injuries, prompting a family tribute to the “fun, bright, handsome, athletic” child, who was “incredibly well-liked”.
Family Statement Highlights Noah’s Enthusiasm for Life
“Above all else, he cherished spending time with his friends and family; they were the heart of his world,” the family said. “While football was his favourite sport—playing for many local teams—he was a gifted all-rounder who excelled in rugby, cricket, and athletics. Outside of organised sports, Noah stayed active and adventurous; he loved challenging himself at the gym and spending time at the bike park.”
Noah’s death has left a hole in our lives that will remain forever,” the family added, expressing their devastation.
Charges Against Two Individuals Following the Crash
Police confirmed on Sunday that a 24-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman have been charged in connection with the collision. Jamie Fountain, from Fir Tree Close, Flitwick, faces charges of causing death by careless driving and causing death by careless driving while over the legal limit for alcohol and drugs. He is also accused of two counts of causing serious injury by careless driving. Additionally, Fountain is charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident, failing to report an accident, and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. Ellie Ireland, of Wingate Drive, Ampthill, has been charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
Legal Proceedings Set for Monday
Both Jamie Fountain and Ellie Ireland have been remanded in custody to appear before Luton Magistrates’ Court on Monday. Of the two boys taken to hospital, one remains in critical condition, while the other has been discharged after receiving treatment for severe injuries, according to police.
