Woman, 19, Killed in Dog Attack at Essex Home
A 19-year-old woman lost her life after being attacked by a dog at a residence in Essex. The emergency services were summoned to Long Hide, a property in the village of Leaden Roding, close to Dunmow, at 22:45 BST on Friday. Upon arrival, they discovered the woman suffering from severe injuries, and she was declared dead at the scene, according to Essex Police.
A 37-year-old man from Dunmow was taken into custody on suspicion of allowing a dog to act dangerously out of control, resulting in fatal injuries. The canine was removed from the premises, and specialized personnel confirmed the area was secure. The suspect remains in police custody.
“This event will undoubtedly impact the local community deeply,” stated Assistant Chief Constable Stuart Hooper. “Our thoughts are with the woman’s family and friends during this difficult time. We will maintain a visible presence in the vicinity today, encouraging anyone with details or worries to reach out.
