Two Met Police Officers Face Charges in Fatal Crash Involving Pregnant Woman

A fatal collision involving a pregnant woman and her unborn child has led to charges against two Metropolitan Police officers. The incident, which occurred on the A20 near Kidbrooke Park on 17 October 2024, resulted in the loss of both lives. The woman, 38, was later pronounced dead in hospital following the crash.

PC Chris Johnson is charged with causing death by dangerous driving, while former PC Danny Tomkins faces dangerous driving charges. These allegations stem from an investigation conducted by the Independent Office for Police Conduct. Both officers are scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 28 May.
