Police Search Home Following Double Homicide at Great Wolf Lodge

Cyberzenhub.com – Police search home following double homicide at Great Wolf Lodge as investigators seek to understand what led to the deaths of a father and his 3-year-old son at the Poconos resort. Authorities searched a Towanda, Pennsylvania, residence connected to the family while the investigation continued.

The deaths occurred Monday in a guest room at Great Wolf Lodge in Scotrun, located in Pocono Township. Court records identified the victims as Charles Harrison and his son, T.H., who was 3 years old.

Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, is charged with two counts of homicide. She was denied bail during a Tuesday arraignment and remained in custody while awaiting a preliminary hearing set for Oct. 21. Court records did not list attorney information for her at the time of filing.

911 Call Brought Officers to the Resort Room

Police were dispatched after a 911 call involving a person who expressed suicidal thoughts. According to the criminal complaint, the caller was Metallica Rose Harrison.

During the call, she allegedly told a dispatcher that she was “too weak to stab my neck” and that the knives she had were “not working.” She also asked for help dying. When asked whether she was alone, she allegedly said her husband and son were “already gone in the bed.”

Officers found Charles Harrison and his son dead on mattresses in the room. The complaint states that Charles Harrison had multiple stab wounds to his chest, while the child appeared to have one stab wound to the chest.

Police Search Home Following Double Homicide Investigation

Investigators found a large butcher-style kitchen knife and a smaller knife in the bathroom. Both had teal handles, and Great Wolf Lodge employees said the knives did not belong to the resort.

The family checked into the resort on Sept. 21 and had extended its stay. They were expected to leave Tuesday, one day after the killings. Police sought a warrant to search the Towanda home for evidence that could help explain a possible motive, the family’s roughly three-week stay, and any connection between the knives at the resort and items at the residence.

A court inventory shows officers removed nearly a dozen teal knives, a safe, a journal, a financial notebook, a laptop, and other items. The seizure alone does not establish a motive or show how any item may be connected to the case.

Family Accounts Are Part of the Inquiry

Warrant materials state that relatives described Metallica Rose Harrison as dominant and controlling. Family members also told investigators that she had isolated them from Charles Harrison and the child.

One relative allegedly said Harrison had expressed resentment about her son and believed he took away private time with Charles Harrison. Those accounts are allegations contained in investigative materials and have not been tested in court.

Authorities have not announced a final motive. As police search home following double homicide allegations, they are examining physical evidence, electronic records, finances, and family statements to reconstruct the events before the deaths.

Great Wolf Lodge Says It Is Cooperating

Great Wolf Lodge said it was fully cooperating with law enforcement and expressed sadness over the incident at its Pocono Mountains location.

“We are deeply saddened and heartbroken by a tragic domestic incident that occurred yesterday in a guest room at our resort in the Pocono Mountains. Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of those affected.”

The incident occurred in a private guest room, not a public resort area. The case remains under investigation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
