Illinois Mother Remains Detained in Death of 2-Year-Old Son

Kerr told the court that Walsh’s husband and mother were absent because they were attending Barrett’s funeral. He also said they asked him to convey their “unwavering support of Corie.”
The defense’s position does not resolve the criminal charge. A first-degree murder case can involve extensive factual investigation, medical findings, witness accounts and legal review of a defendant’s mental condition. Walsh remains accused, and the charge has not been proven in court.
